  7.     Whether you loved it or hated it -- and it was easy to do
  8. both, because it powerfully portrayed each of those emotions --
  9. it was hard not to be blown away by Michael Jackson's new video
  10. when it made its debut last week. With mind-boggling effects and
  11. a hodgepodge of imagery, the 11-minute Black or White took
  12. viewers from a home in suburbia to the plains of Africa to a
  13. series of faces melting one into another with Terminator 2
  14. fluidity. In fact, the video's wizardry and crotch-grabbing
  15. wildness overshadow the music, which is far from the
  16. cutting-edge sound fans are used to hearing from Jackson. But
  17. the crotch-grabbing was too much for those with children
  18. watching. Complaints caused the singer to cut a 4-minute
  19. sequence.

  21.     The song's album, Dangerous, will share shelf space with
  22. an unscheduled offering from Michael's brother Jermaine: the
  23. original version of Word to the Badd!! The song is critical of
  24. Michael: "Once you were made/ You changed your shade." The words
  25. were rewritten for Jermaine's new album, but radio stations
  26. played bootleg copies of the original. But don't expect a
  27. continued family feud. The brothers spoke face to face recently
  28. for the first time in eight months.
